ICSI WIRC Organises Discussion on IPO

Mumbai, Maharashtra, INDIA - A study circle meeting was organized by WIRC of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India on 23rd May at 6 pm at WIRC Hall. The discussion theme was IPO case studies.

Shri Mahavir Lunawat, Chairman – Professional Development Committee of ICSI-WIRC introduced the theme of the program and laid emphasis on understanding the nuances and practical case studies of an intricate corporate action like IPO.

Shri Rajnish Rangari, Country Head Investment Banking – CMG, Karvy Investor Services Ltd took the members and professionals through various interesting case studies of primary market fund raising. Shri Rangari discussed the complex process of IPO under the intricate regulatory environment. He shared his experience of handling more than 200 assignments of corporate finance. Shri B Narasimhan, Central Council Member, ICSI was also present and shared his views and experience with the participants.

The program got overwhelming response from professionals from secretarial and finance functions and also the practitioners in these fields. Shri Mahavir Lunawat took the participants through the salient features of the background paper circulated at the program. Vote of thanks was offered by Shri Lunawat after the open house discussion on various intricate and complex issues involved in fund-raising through IPO.

Participants appreciated the program a lot and requested the Institute to have more and more programs of this nature. Responding to the request, Shri Mahavir Lunawat stated that the Institute has lined up a series of programs on a wide array of important topics like corporate structuring / restructuring, corporate finance, accessing international capital markets, depository laws, case studies, international laws etc.
