Prof. Scalem is also the founding member of several international and national initiatives in management and has offered consultative and training services in the areas of HR & Leadership, IT, strategy management, Entry strategies for foreign markets, Country & Industry analyses, ERP, Business Plan management.

An exceptional scholar and professional, he has been awarded multiple times and is also the sole recipient of the prestigious AMDISA-Commonwealth Doctoral Fellowship (SAARC) in his batch year. Recently he has won the 'National Innovative Teacher Award' for his experimentations towards the best pedagogy & training practices and the 'National Young Scientist Award' for his research, to name only a few.
