RFCL Limited, an ICICI Venture company, launches its first world class integrated manufacturing plant for human diagnostics reagents and veterinary pharmaceutical products, in SIDCUL, Haridwar. The Plant is spread across 91,000 sq ft built-up area and designed to conform to the WHO GMP and US FDA standards

This state-of-the-art GMP approved and ISO 9000:2000 and 14000 certified plant was supported with significant investments to the tune of Rs 40 crores.

The facility currently has the capacity to manufacture 10 million tablets, 3 million dosages of liquids and 12 lakh dosages of powder injectables. This plant has been designed to cater to an increase in demand by 25-30% without any additional major investments in the facility.

Fivedifferent veterinary healthcare formulations including Liquid and Powder injectables, Liquid orals, Tablets and External preparations like Ointments, all get manufactured in one plant. It also contains the capability to manufacture both beta lactam and non-beta lactam antibiotics in the same plant

The thrust on indigenous production at RFCL is supported by a strong backend integration with its DSIR recognized Formulation Development Laboratory and the Analytical Resource Centre situated in RFCL headquarters in Delhi. This centre has worked in tandem with every developmental step of the manufacturing facility to ensure that state-of-the-art technology transfer documents are available for all the products to be manufactured at Haridwar and meet the regulatory guidelines required for India as well as the global regulatory standards.

Close on the heels of the acquisition of Bremer Pharma GmbH of Germany, this is yet another feather in the cap of RFCL in its earnest attempts to unlock the potential across all its businesses. “Integrating this manufacturing capability along with the synergistic capability that we have acquired out of Bremer Pharma in Germany puts together a significant manufacturing strength which will become a key pillar to the globalization plans of Vetnex and that of RFCL,” he adds.

The company has also initiated “Project Create”, a multi-facility, “state-of-the-art”, manufacturing plant for laboratory solutions, being set up on a 20 acre land in Panoli, Gujarat with global capacities to cater to global requirements as per International standards. This plant is expected to get commissioned in the next 15 months.
