A major breakthrough in the field of eye care bringing India pride and glory, Dr.Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Chennai has bagged three prestigious ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) International Awards which was held in Chicago, U.S.A. on 7th April’08.
Prof. Amar Agarwal was conferred with two awards in the film festival for his path breaking video on “Paradise regained with Glued-IOL” and “Untouchables-Cancer in the eyes” and another award was won by the hospital for the “Most Challenging Cataract Case”.
The prestigious ASCRS award is equivalent to that of “Oscar award” in the field of ophthalmology. Panel of Jury consisted of 11 eminent ophthalmologists who selected the award winning video films.
From Chennai to Chicago, Dr.Agarwal’s Eye Hospital carried the pride along with confidence to present the most challenging cases in ophthalmology in ASCRS and returned with an award on the same. This gargantuan task achieved is one of the landmark achievements by an Indian doctor in global arena thus making our nation proud. More than 8000 doctors from all over the world participated in the event.
Prof. Agarwal had 14 courses in the ASCRS and showed videos of his latest invention the Glued IOL in Chicago.
